Electrical and Electronics Engineering
The Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) Department at Sri Venkateswara Polytechnic aims to equip students with in-depth knowledge and skills in electrical circuits, power systems, and electronics. The diploma program is affiliated with the State Board of Technical Education and Training (SBTET), Andhra Pradesh, and is tailored to meet the current industry demands. It provides students with a strong foundation in both theoretical principles and practical applications.
The department has fully equipped laboratories for electrical machines, power electronics, control systems, and basic electronics. Students receive hands-on training in operating transformers, motors, circuit simulation tools, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs). These labs are designed to provide real-time experience that bridges the gap between academics and industry.
Our dedicated faculty members use modern teaching methods, including digital boards and simulation software, to enhance learning. Subjects such as AC and DC machines, transmission and distribution, electrical measurements, and industrial electronics are taught with a practical focus. Faculty also guide students through mini-projects, assignments, and industry-based case studies.
Students are trained in advanced tools like SCADA, AutoCAD Electrical, and MATLAB to boost their technical competence. Regular workshops and seminars on energy conservation, electric vehicles, renewable energy, and smart grids help students stay updated with emerging trends. The department also encourages students to participate in technical quizzes, model exhibitions, and paper presentations.
Industrial training and internships are integral parts of the EEE curriculum. Students are sent to power plants, substations, electrical maintenance units, and manufacturing industries to observe real-time operations and safety protocols. These experiences enhance their understanding of power generation, distribution, automation, and control systems.
The EEE department organizes guest lectures by experts from organizations like APTRANSCO, NTPC, and private energy firms to provide career guidance and domain insights. Through placement support and mock interviews, students are prepared to enter roles such as junior engineers, maintenance technicians, or pursue higher education in electrical engineering or related fields.
At Sri Venkateswara Polytechnic, the EEE department focuses not only on producing technically sound graduates but also on shaping responsible professionals. Emphasis is placed on teamwork, communication skills, and ethical practices. With a balanced mix of classroom learning, lab work, and industry exposure, our students are prepared to contribute meaningfully to the ever-evolving electrical and electronics sector.
