Civil Engineering
The Civil Engineering Department at Sri Venkateswara Polytechnic is committed to developing skilled diploma professionals who can contribute effectively to infrastructure development. The program is structured to impart knowledge in areas such as construction technology, structural engineering, surveying, and environmental engineering. The curriculum is designed in alignment with the State Board of Technical Education and Training (SBTET), Andhra Pradesh.
Students in the Civil Engineering diploma program gain hands-on experience through practical labs and site visits. Our laboratories are well-equipped for materials testing, hydraulics, surveying, and concrete technology, providing students with exposure to real-time construction practices. The department emphasizes the importance of both field and lab work in building technical skills.
The faculty members are experienced and dedicated, delivering subject knowledge using modern teaching methods. Concepts such as building planning, estimation and costing, and soil mechanics are taught with practical examples and project-based learning. Workshops and seminars on emerging areas like green building technologies, GIS (Geographic Information Systems), sustainable development, and smart cities keep students updated on modern civil engineering trends. Guest lectures by industry experts further enhance students’ awareness and career orientation in the construction and infrastructure domain.
